Murata to Participate in X-Fest Global Technical Seminars
Hands-On Demonstrations of Murata’s MPDRX Point-of-Load DC-DC Converters to be Offered for Design Engineers
Smyrna, GA, March 12, 2007 - Murata Electronics North America, a world-leading innovator in electronics and the largest global supplier of ceramic passive components, today announced its participation in X-Fest, a series of international technical seminars offered by Avnet with Xilinx. The seminars were developed to present products and design engineering solutions that are ideal for Xilinx field programmable gate array (FPGA) users and applications. Murata will showcase the performance of the company’s latest fast response MPDRX point-of-load (POL) DC-DC converters through hands-on demonstrations.
“Murata is excited to partner with Avnet and Xilinx for X-Fest, and we look forward to reaching out directly to our customers and providing them with cutting-edge power module designs,” said Bill Kutsche, group product manager of module products for Murata Electronics North America. “Our X-Fest demonstration of the MPDRX series is a great way to illustrate Murata’s sophisticated engineering solutions to designers.”
The high-speed response, non-isolated, MPDRX series is particularly useful in FPGA and micro-processor applications that require tight regulation and quick responses to the high-current transients generated during normal operation. Murata’s core competencies in ceramic and ferrite materials, coupled with 20 years of power-supply development and manufacturing experience, have contributed to a solution in the MPDRX series that is economical, small and superior in performance to alternatives. Demonstrations of this product during X-Fest will give customers the practical knowledge necessary for new design solutions and to help solve current and future design challenges.
The one-day X-Fest seminars offer useful, how-to training for FPGA, DSP, and embedded systems designers, and are intended for current Xilinx FPGA users. The series begins its 90-city global tour in Beijing April 3, 2007 and continues through July 13 in locations throughout Europe, Asia, Japan and North America. Murata will provide demonstrations at approximately 25 locations in North America including Boston, Ma, San Jose, CA, Baltimore, MD and Dallas, TX.
