Murata Electronics Launches New Miniature 3 amp and 6 amp DC-DC Converter Series - Telecommunications and Data-Communications Service Providers To Benefit From MYLG Series’ Size and Cost Efficiencies
Smyrna, GA, May 27, 2009 - Murata Electronics North America, a world-leading innovator in electronics and the largest global supplier of On-Board DC-DC Converters and ceramic passive components, today introduced its latest DC-DC Converter product line, the MYLG Series. This solution is ideal for both intermediate bus and distributed power architectures in the telecom and data-communications sectors – base stations, routers, fiber optic products, computer servers and test equipment and instrumentation – making it ideal for markets where high reliability is critical. Measuring just 12.4 x 12.4 x 5.6 mm, these converters encompass myriad advancements to allow for greater design flexibility and power density. Engineers will directly benefit from a unique land-grid-array structure that enables an easy board-mount inspection and a low-profile. The high efficiencies (up to 93 percent), wide input voltage ranges, programmable output voltages and tracking and remote logic features provide designers with a broad range of possible power solutions.
When considering power architecture options, design engineers are frequently challenged to marry high performance criteria with a reduction in board-space footprint and overall power consumption. This is exacerbated by market pressures to add more features, capabilities and applications into a smaller space at a lower cost. Murata’s MYLG Series addresses these issues via the ultra-small size, surface mount package and high efficiencies across the industrial temperature range. It also allows for greater sourceability because of its DOSA Second Generation Standard Compatibility.
“Murata’s ability to miniaturize converters and reduce costs without having to sacrifice functionality is unsurpassed,” said Bill Kutsche, group product manager, circuit module group for Murata Electronics North America. “The MYLG Series represents our commitment to continually challenging ourselves to provide our customers with the most advanced solutions available on the market today.”
Murata’s new MYLG series is priced competitively and lead time is approximately eight to 12 weeks. These and more of Murata’s DC-DC Converters can be found at Murata’s dedicated website.
