Since our North American sales organization began in 1965, Murata has been committed to providing solutions-oriented, market specific technology that will ensure the success of our customers, our employees and the global community we serve.

Murata now provides a broad spectrum of diverse components that utilize the unique electrical properties of ceramic materials in three major product categories. These include core products, application specific components and functional modules. Murata Manufacturing Group annually invests 7-8% of sales to R&D, in order to maintain our consistently high commitment to quality and innovation. We will continue to strategize for future development to meet the requirements of our target markets that include telecommunications, EDP and automotive.

Our state-of-the-art material processes and advanced automated manufacturing systems enable us to manufacture large volumes of technologically advanced products while meeting high quality standards. Our corporate office in Smyrna, Georgia is ISO 9001:2000 certified by Bureau Veritas Certification. For the last 32 years Murata has maintained a distribution hub located in Rockmart, Georgia. From this facility our products and product samples are shipped throughout North America. A 24-hour turnaround is standard from customer order to shipment for in-stock requests. This is accomplished, in part, due to our close proximity to the Atlanta International Airport and other transportation centers within the southeast. The mission of the distribution center is to maintain flexibility so that we can always react quickly to customer demands.

As we enter the 21st century, Murata Manufacturing Group will continue to provide passive components of the highest quality. Additionally, we will aggressively explore new frontiers in the development of advanced electronic materials and new, multi-functional high density modules. We will continue to utilize gallium arsenide (GaAs) and multi-layer LTCC technology as we move forward with a new generation of products.
